His father instilled in him to never settle and to always give it his all, which is what Peter Ryu did after receiving his economics degree from the University of Washington and accepting a position as a full-time loan officer. "I developed a passion for helping people achieve the American Dream," he recalls. "Now, as a mortgage banker, I love working with people and being a part of their journey."
The branch manager and Mortgage Advisor with New American Funding, Ryu is focusing on growing their Bellevue branch. In the industry for 21 years, he credits his success to his ability to provide a perspective that will set clients up for success. "I look at the big picture and offer solutions that my competition wouldn't even think about," he says.
Named to the President's Club and awarded Top 1% honors by Scotsman Guide and Top Originator Magazine, Ryu is known for being attentive, ethical and compassionate toward his clients. A board member of the Asian Real Estate Association of America, Ryu recently co-chaired the organization's second-annual golf tournament, doubling their donation from last year to Northwest Hope and Healing, a local nonprofit that provides financial assistance to female cancer patients.
Ryu spends free time with his two sons, who he also coaches in basketball. They enjoy playing baseball, fishing, crabbing and snowboarding together. "We have aspirations to start a band, so we just started taking guitar and drums lessons," he adds. "Family is my No. 1 priority, and my boys are the reason I strive to be the best."
